نحن قوم أعزنا الله بالإسلام ، فهما طلبنا العزة بغيره ، أذلنا الله

We are the people whom Allah honoured through Islam, so whenever we seek honour other than it, Allah will disgrace us.

AND THE LEGENDARY NO.9 BOWED OUT...

St. James' Park witnessed another great night as Alan Shearer played his final game in the magpies' colour. Having spent the last 10 seasons wearing the same shirt and number, it was such an emotional night to have him leaving the club.

On his farewell, Alan Shearer said:

'I thank you all very much for all the support you have given me over the past 10 years.

'As everyone knows, I had the chance to join other football clubs before I came here, and I was very close. It was a team in red and not far from Manchester.

'But it was always my dream and my ambition to come home back to Newcastle - and I came back.

'Whatever anybody says, I've done it and I've done it my way. I've lived the dream, so thank you very much.'

'This will stay with me forever,' he said later. 'They have been great times. I've lived my dream; I've done what I wanted to do. '

'When I was a young boy I wanted to play for Newcastle - and I've done that. It's been an unbelievable rollercoaster ride, some ups and downs. But overall, it's been my dream - and I've loved it.'

Had he joined Man Utd, he would have won so many trophies and championships. Yet, he opted to come home. Home is where his heart belongs, and Home will always be Home.

"There was more than just a tear in my eye when I was walking around," he said. "I defy anyone not to have a tear.

"The way they (the fans) have been, it's just incredible. Where else do you get something like that?

"I thank the fans for everything they have given me. It's just been very, very special."

Thank You Al for everything you have been doing for the club.
