نحن قوم أعزنا الله بالإسلام ، فهما طلبنا العزة بغيره ، أذلنا الله

We are the people whom Allah honoured through Islam, so whenever we seek honour other than it, Allah will disgrace us.

Fasting

Well, the past two weeks have been rather hectic for me. I spent a whole week in KL, attending few interview and recruitment sessions. The week after that, I spent it entertaining my friend who came to visit me from the UK.

I have not received the job description yet, but I have basically made up my mind to join Shell. After all, they were voted as the best graduate employer last year, if I am not mistaken.

I would like to sign up for the bike license class. Unfortunately, the time that I have until my employment is not enough for me to obtain the license. I guess I'd have to find a driving school in PD for the license.

I am still pondering over the reasons why non-muslims are not allowed to enter many mosques in Malaysia. Well, we got really angry when people become murtad, but we don't really welcome people to see our mosques. I felt really dissappointed when this friend of mine was not allowed to enter many of them. He was fasting, he was asking many questions about Islam. Yet, he was not allowed to see how we worship Allah.

I still think that during the time of the Prophet s.a.w, non-muslims were allowed to come into the mosque to see the him. Not only that, they even argued and questioned the prophet inside the mosque.

Are the shoe and laptop thieves, are better than this friend of mine? Yes, these peoples say shahadah, yet they have the guts to steal from mosques, while people are performing ibadah. And they are allowed to roam inside the mosques without any prejudice.

I guess the debate can go on and on, but I still do not like the idea of our Jabatan Agama not allowing the non-muslim to come into our mosques.

Something to ponder...

SHELL

Well, most probably, I'll be working for shell starting this november. The main reason is that SLB has too long a recruitment process. I don't think I'd be able to work for them starting on Nov 1.

The other company has been very slow in making their offer, simply because they are not used to employing fresh gradutes. They would need graduate, for the predicted future need of the company.

Having said all those above, Shell has told me to undergo a medical check-up in JB on monday. If all is well, I'll be working for them in Nov.

SHELL, SCHLUMBERGER OR OTHERS

Well, today i received a phone call from SHELL. Basically, they are going to offer the job as a development engineer to me.

I will have another interview with schlumberger tomorrow. Say i get it, I'll be in deep trouble deciding whom i want to work for.

And I got another email today, from a shipping insurance/ surveying company. This is a job that i have been really interested in since i was a teenager.

Hmm, so? which one?

A Week in KL

Well, by now, I have been in KL for 2 days already. I was supposed to go home tonight, but there was another email from SLB that made me stay behind until friday.

Having nothing much to do, I kind of enjoy watching my mum having to do her homework and assignment. keskeskes. Staying at Legend Hotel, I am trying to fully utilise their wireless services, which is way faster than my dial-up at home.

Was browsing on google earth, when i realised that one can clearly see KMB on google earth. Try find Kampong Bukit Changgang, and I assure you that you should be able to find KMB. I guess that KMYS is no where near that clear.

Anyway, trying to doze off now. Having nothing else to do.

Till next time, bye

Revolution?

Recently, I wrote something about how malay people behave when they go to the toilet. Surprisingly, Najib thought of the same thing, and later annouced the beginning of the 'revolusi tandas'. I can hardly believe my ears. Feel like someone is making fun of the malaysians, as if we are too stupid to think for ourselves.. well, maybe most of us are.

Anyway, now you can listen to this toilet revolution song being aired now and then. 'Oh tandas, berkualiti, oh hidup berkualiti'. I made up my own lyrics. 'Oh tandas, berkualiti, oh berak, senang hati'.

I also happened to watch many good quality programmes in malaysian tv.

1) Ilmuwan islam.
this is a supercool programme. u know what tv3 did? they sent people to places like egypt, morocco, africa, europe, china, everywhere to find the remnants of the islamic empire. I was so impressed by the programme that.. well, see it yourself.

2) Herbal secret
Another good quality programme by tv3. It tells the audience so much about the herbs and tradition medication. The downside of it is that the commentator/host is a bit dodgy. She does not speak well. A bit messed up between formal malay (baku) and informal one. She could not even comment on the dishes well. Please improve cik miera.

The problem with both programmes is the timing. 730pm.

Enough for the day.

bye for now

2 min 30 sec services

Well,

So far, I have been enjoying my meals at home. But there are times when we simply had to eat outside, and there's this one warong (stall) that's our favourite.

Operated by few patani's fellow, this stall offer a super speed service. Once, I timed the whole process, and they took 2min 10 sec to deliver the drinks, and another 20 sec to deliver the meal. It was roughly 2 min 30 sec for them to prepare the meal for me and my dad.

Just named any typical warong dish, from nasi goreng to mee bandung, anything will be delivered to you before you can hardly finish your drink.

Yesterday was not as quick though. There were a handful of people overthere. But still, they managed to maintain a waiting time of less than 10 mins.

- Who needs those capitalist McD/ KFC/ BK and their shite meals? -
