نحن قوم أعزنا الله بالإسلام ، فهما طلبنا العزة بغيره ، أذلنا الله

We are the people whom Allah honoured through Islam, so whenever we seek honour other than it, Allah will disgrace us.

Another week @ SRCPD

Well, nothing much has happenned since my last entry. I went to the course on the 4 disciplines of execution by the FranklinCovey Institute in KL for 2 days. On friday, I joined Asyraf fetching his bro from Kolej Matrikulasi Melaka (Londang), before going to KL.

Crashed his place for the night, before going out the following day. Went to UIA Gombak, and later to the SIA interview. I don't want to say much, but I could say that these SIA staffs are bunch of racists. I can't believe my ears (and myself) over the preferential treatment that they gave to non-muslim candidates. Well, I don't want to elaborate much, but in case you guys are reading this, please join me in boycotting SIA.

After that, I visited my sister at UTM, before going to a colleague's brother's open house. Did not stay there for long, for I have a more important event to catch.

Later that evening, I went to the Shell Refining Company Annual Dinner, held at Sunway Lagoon Resort. I went with an old friend. Basically she drove me to the event, but she had to leave early. Well, no big deal. I crashed Asyraf's place for another night.

The following day, I went to an ex-UK students' gathering, and later went to UTM (again) to see the architectural exhibition. Later that night, I went back to PD with asyraf.

Early this week, I was assigned my 'first' task here, that is to be the NDT co-ordinator for the coming minor shutdown. At the moment, I am a little occupied with the tedious work, which is somehow enjoyable.

Well, played football for the first time in 1 year 2 days ago, and looking for more sessions of footie.

Cleaned the apartment yesterday, and most probably will be moving in tonight.

The week that passed by

Last saturday, I was watching a football match between Newcastle and Man. City, when my sister rang me from Indonesia.

I was informed that one of my uncle has passed away, after his car collided with a lorry somewhere in India.

The following day (sunday), I went to KL to visit my auntie and her children.

On Monday evening, I made my way to KL, getting a lift from one shell staff, who was going to shah alam.

I stayed at PJ Hilton for the night. The following day, Husna and I joined join our relatives at Masjid Putrajaya praying for my uncle's jenazah. The body arrived around 6am in the morning at KLIA, before being transported to Putrajaya.

There was a huge crowd of people in the mosque. Basically, almost everyone who knows him in the PSD joined the prayer. Later most of them joined the convoy to Kuala Kangsar for the burial.

To be honest, I don't feel right not going to KK. May Allah bless Dr Ahmad Shah, and may Allah grant him the paradise.

O' Allah, grant us martyrdom, grant us paradise. ameen

Officially an SRC Staff

I am now officially working for Shell Refining Co. After few days of working here, I received an email inviting me for an interview with an aviation company.

My first impression is that there are so many makan sessions taking place in this company. Even a little discussion will be accompanied with a little plate of kuih and goreng pisang, not to mention free coffee and tea for the staff.

Well, I received a little criticism by a certain anonymous, for my lacking in interest in sharing my shell interview experience with him/her. Just to clarify things with this person, if you maintain the same attitude, I am sure that no-one in this world is willing to share things with you.

I remember when I listened to a Dr Fadzilah Kamsah's lecture. What we don't get is a reflection of what we are not willing to give. People do not smile at you, because you do not smile at them. Similarly, you don't get what you want, anonymous, because you are not willing to even share your name with us.

Enough said, I hope I am going to enjoy myself here.
